Patrick ”YG” Harris is an electric 21-year-old lightweight prospect out of Washington, D.C. Born into a fighting family,Harris’ boxing bloodlines run deep. He is the nephew of two-time world champion Lamont Peterson and son of world-renowned trainer Patrice “Boogie” Harris. He completed a decorated 98-fight amateur career in 2013 after winning two national titles, including the 2007 Ringside World Championship and the 2013 USA Boxing Youth Nationals.
Harris entered the professional ranks in June of 2014 in Fort Washington, Maryland, knocking out George Palmer just 45 seconds into the first round. Now entering his third year as a pro, Harris has run his record up to 8-0 with five knockouts and caught the attention of many talent evaluators, who consider him one of the elite unsigned U.S. prospects.
Harris started off 2016 with an explosive knockout over Christopher Russell in Washington, D.C., one hall-of-fame boxing writer Gary “Digital” Williams called an early candidate for “2016 Beltway Knockout of the Year.” He is also considered a front-runner for prospect of the year in what projects to be a busy 2016 for Patrick Harris.
